Craft Room Storage Ideas

We all imagine it. An amazing craft room full to the brim with all of our favorite crafty supplies in a room that has perfect lighting. Jennifer Mcguire's craft room blows us away! Being in a space like this is something we dream about! What a delightful place to come into every day.

Although not all of us can have such a large room, Jennifer shows craft lovers far and wide how we can all make a difference with storage solutions for all sizes of spaces. This lady is organized! We especially love her ideas about how to store scrapbooking papers in clear folders. Her way of organizing large collections of markers and pens is just perfect. And what?! A mini vacuum cleaner to suck up all of those little craft bits. Genious. We are certainly going to give some of these ideas a try in our own space!

Coffee Stained Paper DIY

Today we found a great tutorial on how to stain paper with coffee. A special thank you to DIY Craft Club for posting this tutorial to try. Staining paper with coffee is so satisfying. This was a relaxing way to spend the afternoon let me tell ya! There are many uses for coffee-stained paper so we couldn't wait to try this out. When we went ahead and followed this tutorial, we used a baking tray and dipped larger sheets to use for custom gift wrapping to keep on hand. Their tip about the different kinds of paper was a good one because when we tried regular printer paper we did not have as good results, it ripped really easily. Heavier papers ended up being our favorites, especially for stamping on. We found that the best paper for stamping thank you notes was the watercolor paper. It gives a nice ephemera look and feeling. We love unicorns. They are so dreamy and take our imaginations to places far far away from daily reality. Remember The Last Unicorn ? Loved that movie! Oh those sweet memories. Mixed Media Art Collage DIY

When it comes to mixed media in art, it takes a good eye. Colors, designs, textures all play important roles, and for some, it comes easily. Thank goodness that people take the time to share their unique design skills with others on YouTube! This tutorial is simply amazing. When we found Marta's channel we were thrilled! She has the ability to send us running to our local thrift store time and time again. What we love about her videos and teaching style (not to mention she is super soothing to listen to) is that she often makes use of things that might be thrown away, like the packaging of a pen pack or cardboard from a cereal box. She shows us that we can make beautiful imaginative artwork with things we might already have at home. So inspiring! If you have some time to spare, grab a cup of cocoa and watch this art collage process using magazine cut outs. This tutorial is quite long but Marta's chit-chat makes it go by so fast! Almost too fast! Simply stunning work here...
